All photos © Bludnut, 2006.The weekend of November 25/26 2006 saw the merry crew reunite for another bike trip, this time to Augusta down on the south-western tip of the continent. Unfortunately Adrian couldn't make it this year, but Geoff was able to step into the breach with his 'transport & recovery' vehicle. Which we actually had to use because Mick's Laverda RGS1000 decided to snap a camchain. The bike is still on the operating table as I write, so we're not sure what the damage (and the bill, ahem) will be exactly. But aside from that mechanical hiccup, it was great trip, if not a bit on the short side. Who knows, next year we might really get ourselves organised and do a trip to the Phillip Island GP.And now a few photos...* * * * * Here we are, loitering outside the Gateway Shell service station on the outskirts of Bunbury. Lovely bikes, shame about the pilots.* * * * * Our campsite down at Augusta. Notice that each man has brought his own tent. This made sure that complaints about nocturnal methane emissions were kept to a minimum.* * * * * Second only to the bike riding in importance, was the food and drink.* * * * * "You did wash your hands didn't you, Mick?"* * * * * And the moral of the story is, never turn your back on Geoff.* * * * * A panorama of the river down at Augusta (click for full-sized photo). It's a relatively unspoilt part of the south-west.* * * * * |
